On May 29, 2013, I purchased Blue Haven Farm. While the home itself is sound, the décor and some of the layout is not exactly my taste. I also decided that the name of the property was not indicative of the property itself and so I changed it to Oak Haven Farm (der Eechehaafe Bauerei in Deitsch).

I plan to renovate this house with the intent of honoring its character and history while incorporating my Pennsylvania Dutch (Pennsylvaanisch Deitsch) heritage. I want to try to restore as many elements as I can but I also want to be sure to bring the house into the 21st century. So, I consider this more of a rehabilitation than an outright restoration.

The previous owner was kind enough to provide a history of the home to me and you can find that information on the History page on this blog.

This blog will provide a pictorial diary through the progress of the rehabilitation. I hope you enjoy it!
